What are you seeing? In my day as a youngster, when you were injured, your parent or coach used to run onto the field and pour water over what ever the injury was, and voila you were good to go – thus the term “magic water.” Well strength training is the “magic water” for good health. Pour 2-3 doses of resistance exercise over your body per week and you will enjoy the multi-systemic benefits shown in the figure e.g., stronger bones, tendons, cartilage and muscles therefore less likelihood of injury, reduced prevalence of metabolic diseases like diabetes, etc. I leave you with this, authors of a recent meta-analysis found strength training alone was associated with a 21% lower all cause mortality in comparison with no exercise (https://lnkd.in/g8vtE7TJ ). Get strong to live long.
